I know this is an old thread, but it was better than making a new one.
I really want the treasure hunter/ID titles to be account wide. I've stopped opening chests and IDing items on all but one character. That character is also in charge of salvaging everything. It's a hassle to move everything through storage to that one character. I think the cartographer and elite skill capping titles should stay character based, because they have concrete evidence of their achievement (map, acquired skill list). I also think the drunkard and sweet tooth titles should be account based. I haven't touched my stacks of bean cakes, sugary blue drinks, and rice wine because I don't know which character of mine should get the titles.

mm..most should stay how they are. tho probably skill hunter, CR, and wisdom should change. and MAYBE drunkard/sweets.
i really like the UAX title. for some, that's a much much larger accomplishment than some of the titles out there, such as sunspear. thats not very hard to max.
really though, they should just make new titles that are account based. i get kinda tired of pouring all my efforts to max titles on one char.

Titles that directly impact features in the game and that are more a function of your gold and/or free time than skill (wisdom/treasure/sunspear/lightbringer) should be account wide. Other factors that show how much a specific charecter has done (protector/cartographer/vanquisher) should remain the same.
Drunkard, sweet tooth, and gamer are annoying. I wish those wouldnt show until you were close to hitting first tier.

I agree that Wisdon and treasure hunter should be account based. I have 10 lvl 20 characters, and to spend that much time and money to get all 10 of them the title is pointless to me. It really takes away from the fun of the game. I also agree that not all titles should be account based, but should have some sort of benefit for doing them. At least then there would be a reason for getting them. One example might be to uncover more of the map for your other characters by achieving higher lvls of the cartographer title. To tell you the truth...I don't even look at other people's titles. And I don't care if other people look at mine, I just want to enhance my enjoyment of the game. To people who take titles so serious that they think they are a god for achieving umpteen thousand titles that do nothing other than sit under your name...contratulations. Thats all the praise that you will get from me. I'm glad that you wasted your time, just for a title. To end off...some titles are better account based, others character based, but they should all have some sort of benefit to having them other than bragging rights.

Especially for some like wisdom and treasure hunter. This would actually encourage me to play other characters than my main one. As it is, I only play my main one because of the titles I am going for on him.
Also, titles that are mutually exclusive should become account based. For example, Survivor and LDoA. I can't get either one on my main character (I didn't even know about titles when I started). However, I would gladly grind out both on two different characters if I could get the title on my primary character.

Think this has been suggested before, but /signed. Yeah it could make the KOABD title track easier, but it would still be better than constant grinding.

I would love to hear your reasons for that statement, and I assume you meant "characters" and not "class" because that makes very little sense otherwise.

Lets suppose you are creating a pug, and you see one guy has legendary skill hunter, accept him and ask him to run a specific build. Then he tells you he cant run that coz he doesnt have the elite unlocked. F*ckin weird eh?
I have r6 wisdom and r4 treasure hunter on my war, and its fine as it is. Never id-ed a single gold on my ranger, so he isnt an Oracle.

Make people do not focus in one profession, and they will likely buy more slots to play as the 10 professions.
Currently the stronger reason to buy more sots is storage.

I personally think that Survivor and Defender of Ascalon should be account wide. I have had my main character since Prophecies beta and I would have gone for one of these titles had I known that they were to exist. I would hate to have to restart that character (also limiting BDay presents) and I do not think characters should be limited in the titles they can recieve because they were created early.
